Part of my return to blogging will be some retrospective outfits of the day. As I tend to dress more adventurously when on holiday, I've raided my iPhone photo vaults containing my 'fits from various holidays in recent years.
Thus, I bring to thee: every outfit that I wore on a girls' holiday to Lisbon in October 2022 (with some bonus pictures of the delicious food we had)!
Day 1
Graphic T-shirt: bought over the internet during the pandemic (I was a little over-zealous with my online purchases during the pandemic!)
Cropped cardigan: M&Co
Skirt: Forever 21
Heart-shaped sunglasses (photographed below): Moschino
As I've mentioned before on my blog, when it comes to dressing for my job, I err on the side of conservative. Thus, I really enjoy dressing more playfully when I'm on holiday, and have more fun with my sartorial choices, something I've done here with the graphic T-shirt, and the striped mini-skirt.
Photos of me with the cardigan off and on, so you can see its effect.
The make-up is my trusted combination of MAC concealer and dazzleshadow, and Fenty blush and highlighter.
A bonus photo: the delicious pizza that I ate on our first night on the town!
A carnivore's dream!
Top: Dorothy Perkins
Skirt: Jane Norman
Trainers: Adidas
Heart-shaped sunglasses: Accessorize
Hair tie with ribbon: Accessorize
Another outfit in keeping with the playful energy that I like to bring when I'm on holiday. I paired a simple top with a floral skirt to let the intricate print on the skirt take centre stage. Helpfully, the top matches my new Adidas trainers nicely! (I only bought two pairs of shoes to Lisbon, the trainers, and a pair of heels, and the trainers got a lot more mileage, due to the extensive walking when on holiday!)
That evening, we went to a Portuguese tapas restaurant that my friend, who had been to Lisbon before, said was a must-attend. It lived up the hype, the plates were delicious!
This was my favourite of all the plates!
Day 3
it's me, hi! I'm the problem, it's me. 👋
Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' album dropped when we were out in Lisbon, so Anti-Hero was massively on rotation when I was on holiday!
Sweater: hand-me-down from my mum
Skirt: TK Maxx
Handbag: DKNY
Earrings: Accessorize
Socks: Calvin Klein
Trainers: Adidas
The philosophy behind this ensemble is similar to the previous day's: a plain top with a rose-print skirt to let the red and green tones pop. I also had a sartorial win by pure chance, my trainer socks matching the pink stripes on my trainers!
We had a change of outfit before going out for dinner and drinks in the evening.
Vest top: Debenham's
Skirt: New Look
The weather in London is generally quite miserable in October, so I made the most of the sunnier weather in Lisbon by wearing lots of cute skirts. I like the 'Easter egg' hidden in this look: the burgundy-coloured skirt being the same shade of wine meant me wearing it to a port bar felt entirely apropos.
Day 4
T-shirt: Topman
Skirt: New Look
Cardigan: Gifted as part of a previous blog post
Bracelet: bought on holiday in Amsterdam
Floral hair clip: Rock n Rose
Mirror selfies were a vibe on this holiday. As I said, I'm the problem, it's me!
And because flowers seem to be very prevalent in my style choices on this holiday, I also wore a flower clip in my hair!
To mark our last night in Lisbon, we went full 'main character energy' and dressed up for a bougie dinner!
Earrings: Monsoon Accessorize
Dress: Monsoon Accessorize
Sunglasses: Moschino
Our last day mainly consisted of hanging around at the Praça do Comércio and souvenir shopping as we waited for our flight back home, so it was my most low-key outfit of the holiday.
T-shirt: H&M
Three quarter lengths: Adidas
Trainers: Adidas
So that's that! I'm planning on doing holiday outfit retrospectives for all subsequent holidays after Lisbon, posting one retrospective per month. March's outfit recap will be what I wore in Marrakech, 2023!
