Continuing with my holiday outfit retrospectives, here are all the outfits I wore for a holiday to Marrakech in February 2023!
Dressing for Morocco posed a unique sartorial challenge; I usually lean into playful, shorter silhouettes on holiday, but local custom calls for a more conservative approach. I had to get creative to ensure my personality still shone through while staying stylishly covered up.
Day 1
Jumpsuit: gift from friend
Headscarf: Monsoon Accessorize
Handbag (worn, in photo below): Kate Spade
Trainers: Converse
Dice earrings: won online many years ago
Our first day in Marrakech was the rainiest, so I reached for my cosiest outfit. I leaned into my Walter White era (ehehe) with this dark navy jumpsuit, but balanced out the utilitarian vibe with my earrings, headscarf and handbag, which are all various shades of pink. This meant I was mixing two of my favourite styles, tomboyish x girly, into what I am proudly naming tomboy chic.
I had a change of outfit before we went out for dinner:
Butterfly hair clasp: bought in Bordeaux
T-shirt: bought online
Handbag: Kate Spade
Chinos: Gap
Trainers: Converse
For dinner, I changed into my trusted Parasite poster, which I bought during online during the pandemic. At around £30, it was pretty steep, but I adore the film (it's in my top 10 films of all-time), and there wasn't much else to be spending money on during the pandemic, so I thought, why not? The graphic on the T-shirt is the focal point of the outfit, so I paired them with comfortable chinos.
Day 2
Sunglasses: Ray-ban
T-shirt: online
Bag: Ted Baker
Chinos: Ralph Lauren
Trainers: Converse
Speaking of The Shawshank Redemption x Parasite, here's a real Bungsy deep cut: in addition to having graphic tees for both films, I also have film posters of them! I'm certainly loyal to my favourites.
Bonus pic: one of the delicious dishes I had later that day!
Day 3
Dress: Laura Ashley
Cardigan: M&Co
Heart-shaped sunglasses: Moschino
Handbag: Ted Baker
Trainers: Adidas
Probably my most overtly girly outfit of the holiday, the cream dress worn on day 3 is one of my absolute favourites. I have a lot of floral dresses, but the red and pink flower pattern here and the ruffled hemline, makes this a very feminine, demure look. The Ted Baker handbag demonstrates its versatility, pulling the outfit together, along with the salmon cardigan, which makes the warm tones of the flowers pop nicely.
Day 4
Dress: Monsoon Accessorize
Cardigan: M&Co
Heart-shaped sunglasses: Moschino
Handbag: Ted Baker
Trainers: Adidas
Earrings and belt: from Morocco
Day 5
Dress: Yumi
Heart-shaped sunglasses: Monsoon Accessorize
Handbag: Ted Baker
Trainers: Adidas
Earrings: Swarovski
Bangle: from Morocco
This purple floral dress is easily one of my absolute favorites, and its effortless boho vibe matched the intricate, pretty patterns of the Marrakech architecture beautifully. Because it’s naturally cinched at the waist, it didn’t even require a belt to give it shape, as with my day 4 outfit. Plus, the long, flowing skirt had just enough movement to let me fully live out my Disney princess fantasy while exploring!
Day 6
Dress: Monsoon Accessorize
Sunglasses: Ray-ban
Handbag: Kate Spade
Trainers: Converse
Bangle: Warehouse
Cardigan: M&Co
Belt: from Morocco

For a day trip to Setti Fatma to admire the waterfalls, I wore this dark navy dress with yellow floral print. The chunky bangle probably wasn't my most practical choice, given the fair amount of navigating on jagged rocks required to reach the water, but I'm always willing to suffer a little for the sake of fashion! The yellow buckled belt is another purchase from the amazing souks of Marrakech, and it brings out the yellow of the dress perfectly.
Day 7
Dress: M&Co
Sunglasses: Moschino
Handbag: Kate Spade
Trainers: Adidas
Belt, bangle and ring: from Morocco
Flower hairclip: Rock n Rose
Earrings: Swarovski
The highlight of my Morocco tip was visiting the gorgeously manicured Yves Saint Laurent gardens, and it was only fitting that I wore a floral dress for the occasion! I went full botanical beauty, pairing this vibrant floral print dress with a sweet blossom hair clip to complete the head-to-toe theme. As with several of my other Morocco fits, I utilised another belt that I bought in the souks, this time a very versatile soft-leather black belt with a statement buckle that elevates almost every outfit.
For our final day, I wore this striking poppy-red dress from Hobbs, which paired perfectly with my olive green cardigan (previously worn in several outfits on this trip, demonstrating its usefulness)! Layering the knitwear added just the right amount of elegance for our last hours of exploring. To finish off the look, my classic black Converse tied into the dark base of the dress seamlessly while ensuring I was comfortable for walking.
I had an amazing time in Morocco, and my holiday outfits reflect that joy. It was so much fun to lean into my feminine side, and my sartorial choices prove that you don't need to bare flesh to look good! This trip concretised the fact that modest, flowing silhouettes can be just as chic, playful, and expressive as anything else.
