Marrakech fits, 2023.

Continuing with my holiday outfit retrospectives, here are all the outfits I wore for a holiday to Marrakech in February 2023!

Dressing for Morocco posed a unique sartorial challenge; I usually lean into playful, shorter silhouettes on holiday, but local custom calls for a more conservative approach. I had to get creative to ensure my personality still shone through while staying stylishly covered up.

Lisbon fits, 2022.

Part of my return to blogging will be some retrospective outfits of the day. As I tend to dress more adventurously when on holiday, I've raided my iPhone vaults containing photos from various holidays in recent years to showcase my more interesting 'fits!

Thus, I bring to thee: every outfit that I wore on a girls' holiday to Lisbon in October 2022 (with some bonus pictures of the delicious food we had)!

OOTD: Office Christmas Party

On Friday December 15th, I went to one of two Christmas parties our Institute is invited to (the second will be after the New Year - keep your eyes peeled for an OOTD then!). Naturally, this was an opportunity for me to get my gladrags on!

Ring: Accessorize
Necklace: New Look (I was going for a Carrie in Sex and the City-style aesthetic!)

Product review: ORIGINAL WAYFARER SHADES (Rayban)

Now that the sun is shining in Britain, it's important to shield one's eyes from the scorching sun, whilst also looking the part. I have several pairs of sunglasses, but, due to my fixation with Nabokov's Lolita, they predominantly tend to be heart-shaped. I've seen characters in films ooze swag in Ray-ban sunglasses before, most memorably Emma Stone in Easy A when she struts down the hall wearing wayfarers and a basque and everyone gawps at her

OOTD and blocked by another Vardy.

Glasses: Red or Dead
Dress: Warehouse
Hairband: Accessorize

By the way, you know how Jamie Vardy blocked me on Twitter? Well his missus has only gone and done the same...

The repellent couple are hardly doing anything to disprove the belief that they're racist against east Asians now, are they?

My first ever purchase from Ted Baker.

There's currently a 20% off at Ted Baker for students, so I just had to make the most of it to buy a handbag I've been eyeing at Ted Baker for quite some time and in doing so, using retail therapy as a coping mechanism for the vague post-brother flying the nest blues!

I'm in love with the chain - it allows me to wear it over my shoulder, making it a cool alternative to the only other designer handbag I own, my sky blue Michael Kors one. Unlike my Michael Kors handbag, this one's a lot darker too, so I can accessorise it with more outfits and not have to worry about it getting dirty.

So yippee! I has two handbags now :)

The next Ted Baker I have an eye on is this cream beauty:

Anyone have this? Thoughts?

Retrospective OOTD: my first ever cricket game at The Oval.

The cricket match, which I attended last Friday, was dull AF (I'm a football girl and a football girl only. All other sports bore me to tears), but a day spent drinking Pimm's in the sun is never a day wasted, if you ask me.

Toga: Monsoon Accessorize
Brooch: Greenwich market
Cardigan (tied around waist): H&M
Sunglasses: New Look

A few other photos I took from the day at The Oval:

New glasses: Twiggy for Aurora

Twiggy for Aurora at Specsavers, £125 (not including lens thinning and anti-glare add ons).

Close up of the glasses and the sides:

I absolutely love the jewelled sides of these glasses, and the shade of purple is also lush (weirdly, it photographs burgundy in the first photo).

What I hadn't realised when trying these frames on, however, was just how large they were. I have a bit of a complex about my small eyes, so I'd rather the frames were smaller, as, the larger the frames are, the larger the gaping space between both sides of my eyes and the top and bottom of the frames. For that reason, I think I'll wear these most of the time, but save my trusted red pair for photo ops.

I wasn't too sure about these glasses the day I picked them up, hence the stern look, haha

Turn My Swag On, Amsterdam Edition.

I treated myself to a little excursion in the Dutch capital this week, as a reward for getting past the first hurdle of my PhD. I was there for just two nights, so not too long, but enough to appreciate the extremely liberal, laid-back vibe of the city.

Whilst there, I wore three dresses, so here be my outfits.
