Just another London lifestyle blog.
Briony ripping down the poster was pretty interesting. The others were right to be cut.
I recently got to see the film for the first time. You were right, Emma.I really think it's a terrific film.Actually, it's one of those films I like more and more even after I watched it (something that happened to me before with films like A.I.).So, I guess I'll have to give it a higher grade in my blog review...Thanks for the scenes!
They should've kept the scene in which Briony rips the poster. Particulary because Cecilia's concern is almost maternal, and that was an aspect of the character which wasn't very... explored in the movie.
they should have kept the scene with briony ripping the poster. Not only did it emphasise the relationship between the two sisters, making it all the more tragic when their relationship broke down, but it also made briony seem more human by crying. The other scenes weren't really necessary...I guess they could have kept the one with leon and cecilia (all in all, I think anything with Cecilia would have been good, as she was the least explored character) but tbh, it wasn't essential.
Hey Emma,I just got rejected from Yale, which to me was like Cambridge to you; a hope, an ambition, a desire. And so now I know that everything I said to you, though sincere and well meaning, was naive, and could not have ever hoped to reassure you, if you feel as despondent as I do now. I have been wait listed at Columbia, which was the first result I read, and I was so stressed and anxious and pent up about it all that I cried, because it still allows for hope but allows for no finalilty, and also simply suspends rejection. I am yet to read my result from Rochester. But I am happy at university right now as it stands, and so my life it not ruined, but it feels that way.Yours in empathy,xoJust a girl
BTW: I disagree about the poster scene. I didn't like it. I thought the emotion seemed forced, tense, and an unnecessary scene. Good cut was my call. Suspended judgement on the rest, I have not seen them.
Hey Emz, you alright? haven't heard from you for ages.
I've been OK (I had a violin exam that went shitly though), just snowed in with schoolwork.Though the score yesterday, and who scored... hahahaha.
You bitch.I'm not doing your Sunday Survey now.
Bung! Please do. I want to read your answers.
