"Eastern Promises"
"Into the Wild"
"Juno"
"The Kite Runner"
"The Lives of Others"

"There Will Be Blood"

BAFTA *love* their Paul Greengrass, so I reckon Bourne's in for a shout here.

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
"3:10 to Yuma"
"Atonement"
"The Bourne Ultimatum"
"Brick Lane"
"Charlie Wilson's War"

I think I'm thinking wishfully with the Brick Lane prediction, but you never know, it might happen. If this film's going to get any recognition anywhere, it'll be through BAFTA.

OMG, can I just say that I LOVE that Nikki Blonsky, Marketa Irglova and Martina Gedeck made the BAFTA longlist? They are so underrated!

Also, I'm predicting Knightley for the BAFTA nomination because even though she wasn't nominated for Pride and Prejudice, British critics have been raving about her performance and I think BAFTA will want to achieve their own Atonement of some form. I'm not happy about it, especially as Laura Linney didn't even make the 15, but, that's life. (And at least Emma Watson's not on here!)

Woo I'm so glad Nikki made it, she was awesome in Hairspray.
I can't believe Jesse James only has 2 nominations but go Casey! (I saw it today, totally deserves the praise, Affleck for the Oscar!)

great turnout for Atonement. And I also can't wait to see Kite Runner. I speak Farsi, so it's really fun to understand the little untranslated words no one else does :D The one thing I'm worried about is this whole writer's strike...the actors are apparantly boycotting the golden globes, so they might not even air it. That'll suck, especially if it carries on 'til the other ceremonies. anywhoo, glad to see you're blogging again :) xxx

whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.
